Da Fen Village
Established in the Buji district of Shenzhen, China in 1989, DaFen Village (often called DaFen Art Village and DaFen Painting Village) is a community of roughly 7000 artists. Most of the replicas of famous art that is sold on the internet comes from this village.
The Collection
In 2017, when Rory Penland had collected over fifty hand-painted replicas of the world’s most recognizable art, it dawned on him that he could share the collection with the world, realizing that the beautiful art could not be seen first-hand by everyone.
Our Mission

The World is filled with beautiful art from ages long past. Art is history. The Iconic Art Project was created to bring the best art directly to you, via the World Wide Web. Founder Rory Penland has traveled the globe photographing art in renowned museums, galleries and exhibitions.
Penland has also collected carefully hand crafted replicas of some of the World’s most iconic paintings and sketches. He hopes one day to create a live exhibition of his personal collection which spans ancient Chinese art to the beginnings of Modern Art (pre 1923).
Rory Penland is a writer and artist, living in Altamonte Springs, Florida. His art includes modest impressionist style landscapes, portraiture, character portraiture and Retro Modern Art.
